ColorBurst Systems, Inc. (CSE) was founded in 1980, providing custom hardware and software to the magazine publishing industry. During this period, CSE's Professional Publishing System was used by large national weekly and monthly magazines. By the mid 90's CSE had expanded into developing a PC Windows software RIP to drive the IRIS Digital Proofer. This development launched the ColorBurst RIP, OEM'd to Vutek and Epson.

| The Layout version of the ColorBurst RIP runs on Windows 7 and Windows 8. This version supports the ability to add multiple images into a layout, preview, scaling, rotation, cropping, tiling, and step and repeat. A Hot Folder as well as a Mac to PC Networking Utility allows easy connectivity to your network. An easy to use interface, support for Pantone colors, as well as an ICC Profile software are part of the package. PDF-X support for mixed color spaces and transparencies. |

Overdrive is a PostScript RIP that uses new advances in color management and printing technology to deliver high-end color, accurate proofing and Pantone matching for any inkjet printer. Support for any paper is immediately available due to the universal nature of Overdrive's color management.
New features in version 2
Overdrive 2 has been completely rewritten as a 64-bit Cocoa application for Mac OS X 10.6 and later. Overdrive now takes full advantage of the multi-core processors.
